Book Mother Book Store
Tucked in the heart of Bloomington, Minnesota, this independent bookstore and café was imagined as a “living room of possibility”. A space for grown, curious minds to read, think, sip, and connect.
They came to us with a clear vision: A brand that feels like stepping into your favorite person’s reading room, warm light, inviting textures, shelves that surprise and soothe but with a spark of modern wit that keeps you leaning in.




As a new brand entering a competitive market of big box retailers, chain bookstores, and niche independents, they wanted a visual and brand identity that matched the experience they aimed to create, warm, modern, and inclusive, with moments of curiosity and delight. We build the foundation, from logo and typography to color palette, tone of voice, and creative direction that speaks directly to their audience.

We immersed ourselves in their vision, drawing inspiration from the tactile warmth of mid century design, the quiet intimacy of a personal library, and the joyful spark of discovering a great book.
The goal was to translate their ethos into a brand presence that feels both timeless and fresh, honoring their belief that books are both comfort and catalyst. Through careful visual design and storytelling, we created a brand identity that feels inviting, intelligent, and joyfully unpretentious.
A visual identity anchored in warm neutrals and rich, mid century tones brass, terracotta, pine green branding for a timeless yet modern feel. The tagline Read. Think. Sip. Repeat. became the heartbeat of the space, perfectly capturing the BookMother rhythm.
